Angel Grove Weekend, the hip news program for the youth I guess, is covering a big scoop at Ernie’s for some dumb clean-up the Rangers have organized. I guess that is a little too much to ask for, although the message here is a little more subtle than previous installments. I thought we were done with the whole environmentalism method and were trying to tell a move cohesive story with arcs and plot and cool demonic villains. I thought we were going in a different direction, Power Rangers.
I aim to finish Season 2 by Christmas at least! This week, you can also see why I waited for so long. Yet, sometimes life happens and you’re not able to do the 4-5 episodes a week like you promised. MMPR Season 2, Episode 8 “The Power Stealer” The Rangers gives us a “Welcome to Venus Island” and encounter the most unfortunately titled “The Song of Guitardo” Please keep sharin’ and likin’, Ranger fans! I don’t even think he has has a line in this episode. This is the first appearance of Ritchie, a boring love interest for Trini who I will never mention again because he’s dull like Trini, serves only as eye candy, and I hate him. Other than that, it’s just a neighboring town that can present a rival sports team here

Sort of the Shelbyville/Eagleton to Angel Grove which has lasting influence on the entirety of the series as we’ll see later. This is, I believe, is the first mention of Stone Canyon. The monster is your standard big bug baddie called the Stag Beetle which is literally what he is. In all fairness, this a pretty action heavy episode but nothing crazy happens in it that’s worth writing about. So the Rangers sign up, I guess, and win. And he’s wants to build a ringer team to beat the assholes from Stone Canyon who apparently also play this stupid sport for losers. Ernie invents this dumb sport called broom ball, which is just indoor hockey with brooms and no skates. coach would make you play this bullshit game he made up because the football/basketball/baseball/swimming/exercise equipment was off limits because of budget cuts and only reserved for the competitive teams? Well, if so, that’s this episode in a nutshell. MMPR Season 2, Episode 9 “The Beetle Invasion”
